Rate and Payment Policy

Rate: $250/hour

Payable To: Jay M. Stuart

This fee applies to all work done, including bench work, consultation,  trials, hearings, depositions, document review, interviews and travel time.

Payment is the responsibility of the agency or law firm, not the client of that agency or firm.

Invoices of work done are always provided.

Retainers

A retainer equal to 4 hours of work ($1000) must be received before work will commence on a case.  The first two hours of a retainer fee are non-refundable in the event the matter is resolved after initial work has begun, including document review.

Government agencies may not be required to pay a retainer fee, but are required to send an official hire letter before work starts.

Travel and Expenses

Travel time is billed at the normal hourly rate.  Air travel arrangements, hotel costs and/or rental cars are the fiscal responsibility of the hiring law firm or agency.  Air travel over 2.5 hours must be booked at a minimum of business class.

Late Fees

Invoices not paid in full within 40 days of the billing date will be assessed a late fee of 5% per week.
